The holidays: more than just the individual.
I’ll be honest – this year, Christmas isn’t really exciting to me. My mom died just over a year ago, and the holidays are so much harder than I ever imagined they would be. Perhaps if I had kids or a bigger family, I’d be more into the holiday despite my mom no longer being with us. Now it’s just my dad and I, as well as my girlfriend. The holidays are here – ready or not. Some years I get excited – this year, not so much as it’s been a tough year. However, I believe in the holidays, and no matter my mood, I feel as though I need to observe them. The holidays are so much bigger than my own individual mood – so dive into the holidays I shall.
