R.E.M. is calling it quits. I don’t blame them – they’ve been at it for a long time, and even lost a member several years ago. I’m happy to know that they’re not going to be amongst the oldies but moldies (cough, The Rolling Stones). At the same time, I feel saddened – like a dear friend decided to move away to a place where I can never visit. I’ll never see them live, and they’ll never produce another album.
