I concur with Rosie.. Spike had the balls to fight for his soul, because he wanted to be a better man, a man that could be good enough for Buffy..Angel didnt have to fight for anything..he was forced to live with his soul, brooding around all day long..and yeah, maybe thanks to the chip Spike started to change..but even after the chip was removed he believed in doing good, fighting next to Buffy and the scooby gang..to the point where he saved the world giving his own life in return..and after that he decided to help Angel fight evil in season 5. So I dont know which tv series where u watching but Spike after mid season 4 is NOT evil!!

If I remember correctly, Spike only became “good” because he had a chip implanted in his head causing him not to kill humans. Despite anything he did after that, if it had not been for that chip, Spike would have gone on killing anyone and everyone he felt the urge to kill. Spike was pretty much tamed like a circus animal – take out his metaphorical teeth and he’s harmless. Ok, ok, Spike is evil, but what about Angel?

Where in the fuck have you been? On Mars? Or did you just “SKIP” Seasons 6 and 7 of BUFFY? And Season 5 of “ANGEL”.

You do know that Spike got his soul back in the BtVS Season 6 finale. Right? And that even after getting his chip removed in mid-Season 7, he remained fighting with Buffy and the Scoobies? And that later in AtS Season 5, he fought along side Angel?

What is this shit about Spike still being evil? And at least he chose to acquire a soul. He didn’t have to have it forced upon, like Angel.
